Happy Halloween!

Hey folks! Wishing y’all a happy Wednesday and a Happy Halloween! Congratulations, you made it to the middle of the week! Pour yourself that big glass of wine that you deserve. But wait, you can’t, you have to take your children trick or treating. Bummer, I know, but think of how happy you’re making your kids by going trick or treating with them. That’s better than any glass of wine (from a parent’s perspective. According to me, there is nothing better than glass of wine).

Despite Halloween falling in the middle of the week this year, it is important to keep in mind that both you and your children have to be at work/school the next morning. Meaning, you are not going to want to be out too late because you know good and well that you and your kids aren’t morning people and take forever and a day to get going.

With that in mind, try to stick to your routine as much as possible – it will be better for you and your kids. Once you get home from trick or treating, avoid letting your kids eat any of the candy that they just obtained. The last thing they need is a sugar rush before bed. Head out early – tell your kids that they are more likely to get the best candy that way – so that you can head home early. Be aware of your surroundings – even though you are with you children, you can never be too safe. And have fun – this is something they are looking forward to, so be sure to let them know that you are having a good time as well.

Once home, have them take a quick shower and then hop into bed. Promise them they will have access to all the candy the following day after they have gotten a good night’s sleep and made it through the day.

Happy Halloween, once again, folks! Have fun and stay safe!
